I'm on Lyrica for Fibromyalgia.
Allow me to explain. I've been in pain since late November/early December. The exact time frame is a little iffy as I was under quite a bit of stress. The pain became worse the last week of school, and over the break I went to the doctor twice. The doctors ran tests, everything came up negative, so off to an arthritis doctor I went. She told me it isn't arthritis, and gave me a sample of Lyrica. She did not come right out and say that I have Fibromyalgia, just gave me the medication and said to try it out. It was essentially the only diagnosis we had left.
I've been on the medication for five days. It is working. I'm not in pain all day. I can do things around the house and at school without fear of hurting or exhausting myself. I'm not exhausted all the time. This is good. But does it mean a Fibro' diagnosis would be correct? I'm not sure. I just know it's working. And that's all I really wanted, to be myself again.
Because of all of this, I haven't been doing much of anything for the past two months. Now that I'm feeling better, I hope to do more.
See ye 'round.
